Catherine Shrubshall is an internationally recognised multi-instrumentalist, composer, and creative collaborator whose work spans genres, continents, and art forms. A master of saxophones (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and contrabass), clarinets, recorders, percussion, and vocal chanting, Catherine's eclectic approach blends classical, popular, and free improvisation into performances that are both inventive and emotionally resonant.
With an exuberant and intuitive stage presence, Catherine has performed around the world in settings as diverse as opera houses, outdoor festivals, gallery exhibitions, and broadcast television. Her career highlights include touring with William Orbit, collaborating with Ballet Rambert and Shobana Jeyasingh Dance, and performing at the Royal Festival Hall’s Meltdown Festival. From backing Lovers Rock legend Barry Biggs to improvising afloat on the Highgate Ladies’ Pond, Catherine brings musical risk-taking and soulful energy to every performance.
Catherine is also a passionate music educator, project leader, and sound healing practitioner, with extensive experience designing and delivering creative workshops for both children and adults, including those with Autism, ADHD, and PDA. She regularly collaborates with organisations such as Glyndebourne Opera and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and is a successful recipient of Arts Council England funding for education and professional development projects.
Her ethos celebrates musical curiosity, diversity, and accessibility – whether creating soundtracks for exhibitions, curating immersive art installations, or co-authoring community music columns for local publications.

Cydnei Baines is a classical lyric soprano, composer, and therapeutic sound practitioner whose work draws from a deeply rooted belief in the healing power of music. With a voice shaped by medieval, non-secular, and contemporary classical traditions, and a rich instrumental palette that includes keyboard, djembe, singing bowls, and world percussion, Cydnei creates soundscapes that are immersive, spiritual, and profoundly human.
Her performance career spans concert halls, festivals, and film/TV studios, where she has collaborated with pioneering composers and ensembles including Errollyn Wallen, Stevie Wishart, Colin Riley, and Lontano. A featured artist on Lontano’s "Women in Music" CD and the lead in Jenni Roditti’s opera Inanna, Cydnei has also made her mark on the alternative cabaret circuit, with appearances at events like the Chard Women’s Festival and musical collaborations with Glyndebourne Opera.
Alongside her artistry, Cydnei holds an extensive background in play therapy, music therapy, and care work, bringing music into clinical and community spaces to support emotional healing and mental well-being. She works with a wide range of client groups, including children, refugees, bereaved families, and those living with Autism, dyslexia, mental health challenges, and life-limiting conditions.
Cydnei combines her therapeutic insight with deep musical knowledge to deliver inclusive workshops, healing performances, and community-based creative experiences that explore connection, relationship, and resonance.
