March 2nd 2019  (Nature’s Orchestra)

The rain dwindles on this overcast Sunday afternoon as I head out to the woods. A brisk walk outside always brings me a sense of calm and perspective, especially when there’s some difficult news to digest.

I stop in a deserted clearing and hear the droplets of rain as a gentle rhythm track to the musical lamentations ringing in my head. A bird joins the ensemble with a sonorous melody as other voices awaken with whistles, whoops and snaps. The air throbs with vibratory energy in this woodland world.

My wistful chant continues loud and clear amongst the ensemble, and I no longer feel alone. The creative collaboration with the countryside shifts me to a place of optimism amidst the sadness. The healing songs of nature…..such a treasure.
